Getting Started

Setting up your first venue

Last updated: 11 August 2026.

Getting a single site running in E-DOB is a short, linear process. Here is the order that works best.

Add your first location

Start with the venue itself: its name and address. This becomes the top-level site everything else — departments, maps, users — is organised under.

Create your departments

Departments represent the teams who will actually log and manage incidents — security, front of house, cleaning, whatever matches how your operation is structured. Add each one from Company Administration.

Invite your team

Invite your first users by email and assign each one to a department and a user group as you send the invite, so their permissions are correct from their very first login rather than needing a follow-up fix.

Log a test incident

Before rolling this out to your whole team, log one test incident yourself. It confirms the department, location and notification settings are all connected correctly, and gives you a real example to show your team.

For a single site, this whole process typically takes under an hour from a standing start.
