Using map snapshots on incident reports

Last updated: 11 August 2026.

Selecting a location by tapping a zone on the map is faster than typing one in — and it also creates something a typed location cannot: a visual record of exactly where the incident happened.

When a zone is selected, E-DOB automatically generates a snapshot of that part of the map and attaches it to the report, with no extra step required.

The snapshot appears on both the incident card and the full report, which is particularly useful for anyone reviewing the incident who is not familiar with the venue — a supervisor at head office, a client, or an investigator — since it shows the location at a glance.
